Ballybunion Health and Leisure Centre Looking for Participants for 24 hour Hydro Bike Event
Ballybunion Health and Leisure Centre are running a 24 hour Hydro Bike Event on 23rd March in aid of Nano Nagle School and Kerry Parents and Friends
The Centre has had hydro bike equipment since May 2015. Staff have come up with the idea to run a 24 hour Hydrobike event in aid of two local charities – Nano Nagle Special School and Kerry Parents and Friends. Nano Nagle School caters for pupils aged between 4 and 18 years who have been assessed to have a moderate, severe or profound general learning disability and Autism. Kerry Parents and Friends provides residential and day services together with respite and home support, training for life and community integration programmes for over 200 adults in various locations throughout Kerry.
The event will begin on Friday 23rd March at 4pm and has kindly been sponsored by Coast Café. Coast Café is located on Main Street, Ballybunion in a renovated old style cottage. It is open from 9am each morning and specialises in homemade breads and desserts.
Ballybunion is the first Health and Leisure Centre in Munster to host such an event. It is hoped that 5 hydro bikes will be occupied for the 24 hour period. Any participants interested are asked to contact Kieran Kennelly at the centre or on 087 2594298. Half hour and full hour slots can be allocated. Sponsorship cards are available from The Centre, Nano Nagle School and Kerry Parents and Friends.
In conjunction, a raffle will also take place on Saturday 24th before the event concludes. Prizes include 3 months membership for the leisure centre, personal training sessions, swimming lessons, entries to the Ballybunion 10K event, vouchers, hampers and much more. Raffle tickets are now available for purchase at the 3 locations also. More details on the event are available on the Ballybunion Health and Leisure Centre Facebook page.
