International & County Majors for Listowel

1258

Last Sunday was an exceptional day for our Listowel Pitch & Putt Club. Two more county titles were hard earned in fine weather and well deserved for two talented players. In the Kerry Matchplay Junior Section Rob Heffernan took his first major. A huge win for Rob as he is only playing since last year, showed great calmness and consistent great play from the start. The potential is huge for his future in the game.

Chris Curran took his 1st county major in the Inter Section. The standard was of a very high calibre. Chris was behind in his 1st game, but he quickly turned it on and showed his class through the rounds to the final game. He now moves to senior level, a place where any fine player should be.

Declan Mc Carron has yet again raised the bar at senior level this year. To add to his very successful year he now has an International title. A dream win that many would love to have. The Dutch open won by only 3 other top Irish players puts Declan in a great position to make future World and European Irish team championships.

A special thanks to head green keepers Pa Carey, Kevin Mc Carron and Ger Meade keeping the course in beautiful condition, a strong team equals great results !!
