“The people of Listowel take centre stage as Listowel Business & Community Alliance launch the new Branding & Website for the town with Kerry County Council”
Where Stories Begin, this is the message that is gaining momentum across social media in the past few months as Listowel’s national and international profile continues to go from strength to strength. The new branding and website built by local web team Poppyvine is a tribute to the people and heritage of Listowel, the warmth and welcome is quite literally spilling from the screen when scrolling through the brand new website for the town. Over 2 years in the making this ambitious project has been made possible through funding from Kerry
County Council and work by members of the Listowel Business & Community Alliance.
A celebrative feeling of local pride is evident throughout the website and indeed there has been much to celebrate in recent times with the 2018 win at Tidy Towns, the recent celebration of 5 Listowel Businesses being listed in Retail Excellence’s Top 100 earlier this month, a series of awards relating to live music going to Mike the Pies. Then there are the festivals, Listowel Races has just concluded after another fantastically successful meeting, Ireland’s largest literary festival – Listowel Writers Week is approaching its 50th celebration next May, while Listowel Food Fair will celebrate 25 years this November and Revival the summer music festival that has taken the Irish music scene by storm with its success growing from year to year since its inception in 2016.

As a town we have punched far above our weight, but maybe we have been slow to promote ourselves and what we have achieved and what we can offer. The formation of the Listowel Business & Community Alliance in 2017 has been key in raising the profile of the town, letting people know what an amazing place Listowel is to grow up in, live in, work in and visit.
This new chapter in Listowel is being celebrated with an official launch at the Kerry Writers Museum next Tuesday October 1st at 6:30pm.
