Shannon Drowning Commemoration 2020

661

The ‘living history’ oration by iconic local storyteller Donal O’Connor, the beautiful performance of the song “Friendship” by Helen Murphy and the moments of silent reflection with the dignified laying of wreaths at Mullaly’s Berth and at the Memorial Plaza Tarbert on Saturday 15th August gave this year’s commemoration a sense of poignancy and meaning that was a fitting tribute to those who lost their lives 127 years ago.

So long as we live, they too shall live, as we remember them.
