New Alliance to Drive Listowel’s Economy…Cities, Towns and Villages across the Country are organising themselves to plan and develop initiatives and projects that will sustain their communities into the future. Whether it be Chambers of Commerce, Town Teams, Community Fora or Partnerships they all have a common goal – make their community a great place to live, do business and visit.
Listowel as a town and as a community has achieved much over the past years. There are vibrant groups, active communities, great businesses, hugely successful tidy towns and great volunteers Cllr Kennelly said.
Over the coming weeks, Kerry County Council will be facilitating a process to establish a Business and Community Alliance that will be the forum, to oversee the planning and implementation of initiatives that will promote the growth and development of Listowel into the future.
An initial public meeting has been called for Tuesday January 24th at 7.30pm at The Listowel Family Resource Centre. This facilitated meeting will provide an overview of the process of setting up an alliance in Listowel and provide an opportunity for input from those present on the night.
It is important that Listowel has a unified voice and plan to benefit from investment and
opportunities over the coming years. Well-structured and proactive town groups can help to
effectively produce and devise plans to drive footfall and commercial activity in the town.
All businesses and people involved in the community are encouraged to attend the public meetings Cllr. Kennelly Stated.
