A Walk to Remember

1017

A Walk To Remember is organised every year by the O’Gorman Family in honour of their daughter Carol. Held in Ballybunion’s Ladies Beach, the walk is about coming together and remembering lost loved ones. It draws participants from near and far. This year saw its biggest crowd to date, with entertainment provided by members of Ballybunion Ceoltas Group. The sun was high in the sky as the 5k walk got under way along the beaches. This is a fun filled walk to be done at your own pace, with refreshments served to everyone at the end. The €5 registration fee raises funds for University Hospital Kerry’s Intensive Care Unit.

Planning is already under way for next years event, with the organisers hoping to make it even more succesful. The organisers wish to acknowledge the help and support of the community in general. In particular  Ballybunion Cliff and Sea Rescue, Lee Strand, Cahill’s Supervalu, Aldi Listowel and Brid Griffin. A special word of thanks to everyone who came out on the day and we look forward to seeing you all again next year. Pictured are the extended O’Gorman family
