Causeway Comprehensive School welcomes New Deputy Principal

As the year academic year begins, Causeway CS is delighted to announce the appointment of Liam McGill as a second Deputy Principal to Causeway CS, joining Deputy Principal Jennifer Barry and Principal Cathal Fitzgerald to the leadership team.

This appointment is due to the increase in the school’s enrolment, which now stands at over 620 students and over 60 staff.  

Liam McGill comes to Causeway CS with a wealth of experience as both a Principal and Deputy Principal of Colaiste Gleann Li in Tralee and of course many years as a teacher of woodwork in Colaiste na Sceilge, Caherciveen. Liam McGill said: “I am delighted to join the Causeway Comprehensive school community. Causeway Comprehensive is a school with a strong tradition of Excellence in Education in a supportive environment. The school has an excellent, hardworking and dedicated staff, which ensures all students reach their potential and that the school Ethos is lived out. I am delighted to become part of a strong Senior Leadership Team in Principal Cathal Fitzgerald and Deputy Principal Jennifer Barry and very much look forward to working with them as part of the team.” 

Principal Cathal Fitzgerald stated that: “the school is delighted to have Liam join the management team. The addition of a second deputy principal to the school will be of great benefit to staff and students. We are presently in the final stages of our state of the art two storey extension, which should be ready to break ground in the summer of 2025”.
