Killocrim locals pictured last Saturday preparing for the thawing of the snow and preventing a repeat of the damage caused by the November floods.
Mike Brosnan contacted Cllr. Mike Kennelly, James Nolan of The OPW and Minister O’Donovan about the potential risk of further flooding in the area as the recent snow began to thaw. Mike received 1,000 sand bags from Kerry County Council, which were delivered last Friday night. Forty to fifty locals, in real community spirit, then teamed up on Saturday morning to distribute the bags.
Mike Brosnan would like to thank Kerry County Council, Cllr. Mike Kennelly, The OPW, Minister O’Donovan, Patsy McCarthy with his tractor and trailer, DJ Brosnan with his teleport, Noah Enright with his digger and Danny Brosnan for his levels. A huge thank you to all the volunteers who turned up and helped in any way. Hopefully this will bring some peace of mind to the residents and victims of the recent flooding going forward.
