Listowel once again excelled at this year’s SuperValu Tidy Towns Awards receiving a prestigious Gold Medal, for their dedication and unflagging community spirit. Listowel Tidy Town’s work throughout 2025 – so often carried out quietly and without fanfare – has placed Listowel among the county’s leaders when it comes to caring for our shared environment.
As one of Kerry’s top achievers this year, Listowel Tidy Towns achieved an impressive 393 marks in their category an increase from 381 in 2024 – a reflection of tireless commitment and teamwork during the year.
Frank Hartnett, Kerry County Council Director of Services and Listowel Municipal District Manager praised the achievement:
“Listowel has been deservingly rewarded for the tireless work of the Tidy Towns group. I wish to congratulate them, along with all the Tidy Towns groups around the county, for achieving such a high standard through their display of community effort and pride.”
Gold Medals were also awarded to Tralee, Killarney, Kenmare and Sneem, once again reflecting the depth and quality of community work taking place across the county. The SuperValu Tidy Towns competition is about far more than awards. It’s about local pride, connection and the quiet dedication of volunteers who give their time to make their surroundings better for everyone. 2025 has once again shown how Listowel continues to set an example for positive community spirit and progress.
