Teach Siamsa Finuge is thrilled to unveil an action-packed lineup of spring activities designed to celebrate and promote Irish culture, language, and heritage.

These events offer something for everyone, from folk theatre enthusiasts to nature lovers, and reaffirm Teach Siamsa’s role as a vibrant community hub for traditional arts and culture.

Launch of the Irish Language Programme – January 31st
In collaboration with Kerry County Council, Teach Siamsa will officially launch its new Irish Language Programme with a celebratory event on January 31st. This milestone reflects the centre’s commitment to fostering a love for the Irish language and includes:
• Blas Beo: A 10-week course for adults.
• Spraoi sa Ghaeilge: A Saturday youth programme.
• Comhrá ‘s Tae: Monthly Irish conversation and tea sessions.

The launch event will feature special guests Fionnan Fitzgerald, Pat Ahern, and Joe McGill, as well as performances by Amano, Ranóg Townsend, and exponents of the North Kerry style. This celebration marks a significant step in revitalizing Teach Siamsa as a hub for learning and cultural exchange.

Folk Theatre Classes with Ceim Arts Company
Teach Siamsa is proud to offer folk theatre classes in partnership with the newly established Ceim Arts Company, led by Joanne Barry and Jonathan Kelliher. These classes provide a unique opportunity to explore the rich traditions of Irish folk theatre.

Traditional Dance and the Rambling House
Adults can immerse themselves in the North Kerry traditional dance style through engaging dance classes. Additionally, the monthly Rambling House will return, bringing the community together for evenings of music, storytelling, and camaraderie.

Nature-Inspired Events
This spring, Teach Siamsa will host special events celebrating the beauty of nature, including:
• Bat Walk: An enchanting exploration of local wildlife.
• Morning Chorus: A serene morning event celebrating birdsong.

Folk Year Highlights
To mark Imbolc and St. Brigid’s Day, Teach Siamsa invites the community to two special events:
• Brigid’s Cross-Making Workshop: A hands-on celebration of tradition.
• Pilgrimage to St. Michael’s Well: Taking place at noon on February 3rd, all Brigid’s, Bridies, and Brenda’s are especially welcome to this reflective event.

Emma Langford Performance – February 8th
A true highlight of the season, the extraordinary Emma Langford will perform at Teach Siamsa on February 8th. Known for her remarkable songwriting, storytelling, and wit, Emma’s performance promises to be an unforgettable evening.
