Kerry’s 1997 All-Ireland Winning Captain Liam Hassett will give his knees a final test by running the Irish Life Dublin City Marathon on Sunday 26th October to raise funds for Kerry Mental Health Association.

You can make a donation at https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/LiamHassett.

Liam Hassett, who’s from Killorglin, lives in Tralee and teaches in Listowel, said, “I’m running the Dublin City Marathon before my knees pack in completely and I’ve chosen to fundraise for Kerry Mental Health Association CLG Killorglin & District Branch. They are fundraising to purchase a bus for Ard Álainn Mental Health Day Centre, a community hub for people with mental health needs, to provide service-users with easy access to appointments and outings. I hope to raise enough money and I’m asking my family, friends and the wider community to help me by donating whatever you can.”

Liam has followed a detailed training programme to ensure that he is not only physically but also mentally ready to take to the starting line on Leeson Street and reach the finish near the RDS on 26th October.
Kerry Mental Health Association is a volunteer-led, countywide voluntary organisation that aims to promote good mental health and to actively support people with mental health difficulties and their families and carers by identifying their needs and advocating their rights.
