prepared by the liturgy committee and their Religious Education teachers the class were joined by family and friends for a Mass, celebrated by Canon Declan O’Connor, the beautiful liturgy signalled the end of not only the school term, but also the students’ years at Presentation school. The importance of ritual to mark such a significant time was noted and the symbols and prayers chosen for the mass reflected the students’ experience of school life over the past few years.
School principal, Katherina Broderick spoke of the bright future awaiting the graduating class and encouraged them to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead of them at this gateway of change.’ Our mass and the readings chosen remind us of the importance of embracing change because Life is a sacred journey. It is about change, growth, discovery’
Throughout the ceremony there was a deep sense of gratitude expressed by the students to those who have supported them to reach this juncture and they made floral presentations to their Year head and LCA coordinator and teaching staff.
The gathered community then enjoyed light refreshments in the school canteen where Leaving Cert student, Laura Purcell delighted all with a photographic trip down memory lane and her kind words of appreciation on behalf of the Leaving Cert class 2023.
It was a most enjoyable & momentous occasion for all.
