Experience the magic of the early morning chorus as nature awakens in Finuge this April. Join us for a Bird Walk on Sunday, April 26th at 6am, meeting at The Teach in Finuge village.
The walk will be led by Killian Kelly, Lecturer on the BSc in Wildlife Biology at Munster Technological University (MTU), County Kerry. With a wealth of knowledge in bird ecology and wildlife habitats, Killian will guide participants through the local landscape, helping to identify a variety of native and migratory birds by sight and sound.
Bird walks are a wonderful way to slow down, tune into the natural world, and learn more about the feathered inhabitants of our countryside. Participants can expect to:
• Learn to identify birds by their songs and calls
• Observe birds in their natural habitats
• Understand bird behaviour, nesting patterns, and feeding habits
• Enjoy a peaceful and reflective start to the day in the company of fellow nature enthusiasts
This event is suitable for all levels of interest and experience—from curious beginners to seasoned birdwatchers. Please wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear. Binoculars are highly recommended, but not essential.
This is a free event (though donations would be appreciated), and all are welcome. Let the birds be your alarm clock and join us as we welcome the day in song.
