Kenmare Carnegie Players bring hit comedy “The Pension Plan” to Ballybunion for one final Performance.
After a hugely enjoyable run of 17 performances, the Kenmare Carnegie Players are bringing John McDwyer’s hilarious comedy “The Pension Plan” to the Tinteán Theatre, Ballybunion, on Saturday October 3rd at 8pm – for what will be the production’s final performance.
The production has already entertained audiences in venues including Kenmare, Dingle, Bantry, Abbeyfeale, Listowel, Ballyvourney and Macroom and the players are delighted that the final curtain call will take place in North Kerry.
The Pension Plan follows the lives of bickering Flanagan brothers, Eugene and Sneachta and their neighbour Anne Catherine, as they navigate life, love and plenty of laughter on their hillside farm – until a visit from the Pensions Department changes everything.
Full of familiar characters, rural humour and hilarious situations, John McDwyer’s comedy has proved a great audience favourite throughout the Player’s run.
There is also a strong local connection to the Ballybunion performance, Pádraig Rochford, a proud Ballyduff native plays Eugene Flanagan and is particularly looking forward to bringing the production back to North Kerry.
“We’ve had a fantastic journey with The Pension Plan and some wonderful audiences along the way. We wanted the final performance to be something special, and bringing the show to Ballybunion and the Tinteán Theatre is a great way to finish. We’re hoping the people of Ballybunion, Ballyduff, Listowel and across North Kerry will come along and give the show a great send off”
The cast also includes: Brendan Grant as Sneachta Flanagan, Bernie O’Sullivan as Anne Catherine and Susan Hennessy as Joanne Dolan.
