Thursday, 9th October 2025… Kerry College, Listowel Campus led a Learner Voice Training event attended by over 50 students from its Clash Road, Denny Street, and Listowel campuses. The training, delivered by AONTAS, the national adult learning organisation, forms part of Kerry College’s ongoing commitment to learner engagement, empowerment, and representation.

This initiative, inspired by the National Further Education and Training (FET) Learner Forum, is a cornerstone of the College’s Learner Voice Project—a programme designed to bring learners from across the county and a variety of disciplines together to share their views and experiences.

The Forum provides an opportunity for learners to influence and enhance the educational experience in Further Education and Training by ensuring that their voices are heard. Through these discussions, Kerry College aims to continue meeting the evolving needs of learners both now and into the future. This training marks another step in Kerry College’s strategy to foster an inclusive, responsive, and learner-centred education environment throughout the county.

Stephen Goulding, Principal of Kerry College said of the event “It will be hugely beneficial for our learners who have volunteered for representative roles within the campuses”.

Angela O’Sullivan Kerry College, Listowel who organised this event said:
“The Learner Voice Training empowers our students to actively participate in shaping their educational experience. By engaging directly with learners, we ensure that their insights inform the continuous improvement of our programmes and supports.”
