Kerry Writers’ Museum, Listowel is delighted to present Summer Sessions, a weekly programme of live music, storytelling and traditional entertainment taking place throughout August as part of the museum’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
Held each Thursday evening at 8.00pm in the welcoming surroundings of the museum café, Summer Sessions will showcase some of North Kerry’s finest musicians, singers and storytellers, offering audiences an intimate and memorable cultural experience.
The series opens on Thursday, 30 July, with the ever-popular Listowel Rambling House. Inspired by the long-standing Irish tradition of neighbours gathering to share stories, songs and laughter, Listowel Rambling House has been a much-loved fixture in the museum’s programme for more than 15 years.
On Thursday, 6 August, audiences can enjoy an evening of traditional and folk music with acclaimed duo Ian O’Shea and James Gornall. Their repertoire includes a variety Irish traditional and contemporary songs, as well as popular songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.
Storytelling takes centre stage on Thursday, 13 August, when renowned storytellers Frances Kennedy and Sonny Egan bring audiences a relaxed and uplifting evening filled with stories, songs, local folklore, humour and wisdom.
The series continues on Thursday, 20 August, with singer-songwriter Noelle O’Sullivan who has established herself as one of Ireland’s distinctive contemporary folk artists, blending heartfelt songwriting with evocative storytelling. She has performed at actor Dominic West’s wedding and shared the stage with acclaimed musicians including Mick Flannery and John Sheahan of The Dubliners. During her performance, Noelle will feature songs from her latest album, Rolling on the Inside, released earlier this year.
The Summer Sessions conclude on Thursday, 27 August, with another evening of music, stories and community spirit at Listowel Rambling House.

Admission to Listowel Rambling House is free of charge. Tickets for all other performances are €10, including light refreshments, and can be booked online or purchased at the door on the evening of each event.
