560

Listowel Business & Community Alliance is calling on local representatives to provide support in what is an unprecedented period of difficulty affecting small business across the country.

Kerry Businesses are facing a monumental battle to keep morale going following an onslaught of issues in the past three months from Brexit coming to pass, almost weekly severe weather warnings, raises in rates, energy and insurance costs. The now unprecedented crisis that COVID-19 poses means that strong support is needed from the Government to ensure an effective recovery.

There is now set to be significant disruption in terms of both health and economic wellbeing across the county. North Kerry is in an immediate, short-term and severe shock and a Plan B is needed to activate now which will be focused on riding out the storm and building a collective resilience.

Rose Wall, Chairperson of Listowel Business & Community Alliance is calling for “Reduction of VAT Rate, Pause on Rates, Pause on Water Charges, and Flexibility from Banks on payments. These measures are vital to sustain businesses here in Listowel and across North Kerry.
