Listowel Community Games U15 Boys & Girls Badminton teams have achieved a momentous and iconic first time double in both teams winning gold at the National Community Games Finals in Gormanstown, Co Meath on Sunday.

Both the girls and boys U15 teams overcame the Lenister opposition in the semi final to advance to secure a place in the finals against Connaught. It was Listowels’ day in both finals, with both the boys and girls teams emerging victorious. This is a fantastic achievement for the teams, their parents, coaches and clubs. The support from the local community also played a vital role in the team’s success. The teams are very thankful to their coach Roly Chute who has coached them on this journey. Both teams have shown outstanding displays of skill, determination, and teamwork. The team’s journey to the championship was marked by remarkable performances and unwavering commitment meeting some of the countries finest teams.

It takes a village to raise a child and Community Games is a very important part of communities up and down the country. It provides a national stage for emerging and established athletes.  Listowel Community Games are very proud of the success of the Badminton teams. We are equally as proud of all participants who represent the parish at all levels in the various events and wish those who are participating in upcoming events good luck in their endeavours.
