Listowel is very much looking forward to this years St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival, which will be held on Sunday, March 17th, with lots of activities taking place in the town Square on the day and during that week. The theme for this years Festival Parade is ‘Ceol agus spórt, Croí an Chontae’

There will also be numerous events throughout the week. For example Pop Up Gaeltacht will take place on Friday 15th in John B Keanes, traditional music on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th in Christys Bar. The Park Run will hold a green mile in honour of St. Patricks Day on Saturday 16th in Listowel Town Park and all of the local schools are invited to participate in a colouring competition.

There will be a sensory area during the parade again this year. This will take place on Courthouse Road. “People found this a huge success last year and we are delighted to be able to facilitate it again at this years parade” says Parade Chairperson Christy Walsh. “We look forward to seeing as many people as possible both participating in the parade and lining the streets to watch’ continued Christy.

If anybody is interested in participating in this years parade there are entry forms available in St. John’s Theatre and Christy’s Bar
