A new initiative has been launched by Lixnaw Community First Responders to help people in medical emergencies. A Calendar for 2017 has been launched, which features a prominent position for your Eircode which is vital in helping the ambulance service establish your location when you call 999 / 112 and you talk to an emergency call taker in the National Emergency Operations Centre. “Credit is due to one of our responders John Leahy for the idea” said Brian Crean PRO for the group. “There is also room on the back for vital medical information in case by the time we or the ambulance gets to a patient that communication may be an issue, we have 200 copies so numbers are quite limited but if they help save vital time they are well worth it. They are only €5 and all funds go into our training and equipment”.

There is a number of Calendars in Foleys Shop in Lixnaw. Alternatively people can order them from us by emailing us at info@lixnawcfr.com or via our facebook page. They will also be available after mass in Lixnaw on Saturday night 17th and Christmas Eve at 8.30pm.

We recently had the help of Barry John Keane and Aidan O’Mahoney and local Cllr Aoife Thorton to help launch our Monster Hamper and it’s an unbelievable prize for anyone to win on Christmas Eve. We also have 3 smaller hampers worth between €40-€70 each to give out along with the Monster Hamper. Tickets are €5 each and can be bought this weekend after mass in Lixnaw directly across the road. The draw will take place directly after the childrens mass in Lixnaw on Christmas Eve at approx. 8.30pm, there will be a live feed on our facebook page as well, so for one lucky person, Santa will have come early.
