“No Small Talk Is the kind of book you don’t just read, you carry with you in your heart”
(Araminta Jonsson, CEO Transform Trauma Oxford)

“No Small Talk” is not a traditional poetry book. It is born from lived experience – conversations around recovery, emotional resilience, and the quiet battles people fight behind closed doors – offering the reader reflection, honesty, and hope, without clichés. “No Small Talk” is Paddy Creedon’s fourth book, with proceeds going to the RISE Foundation, an organisation that helps families with loved ones in addiction. His previous publications raised over €12,000 for the RISE Foundation.

Joining Paddy at the Kerry launch will be
• Jimmy Deenihan – former Teacher, 5 Times All-Ireland Winner and Irish Government Minister.
• Poet Denise Costa reading her inaugural poem Feminine online from her home in Brazil.
• Local musician and singer Liam Corridan.

The free event takes place at the Tarbert Community Centre, on Saturday May 2nd at 7pm and will include stories, readings, and tunes. songs, catch-ups, tea & coffee and much more.
All are welcome to attend.

Jimmy Deenihan said: “Paddy Creedon was born in Tarbert Co. Kerry, which is part of the rich Literary Landscape of North Kerry. Paddy has now become part of its unique poetic tradition and follows in the footsteps of fellow Tarbert man, the late Tom MacGreevy and Professor Brendan Kennelly from the neighbouring village of Ballylongford. Paddy expresses his innermost feelings and understanding of the damage caused by addiction to personal and family life in his poems. He writes from personal experience following his own addiction and recovery and this is reflected in his poetry. No Small Talk is an insightful collaboration between Paddy and Denise Costa on addiction and adds further to Paddy’s reputation as a poet”

Senator Frances Black said: “Huge congratulations on your new book No Small Talk  Paddy. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness, your generosity, your insight, and the impact you make every day – you are an inspiration in your dedication to recovery. Thank you for all you do, and especially for your steadfast commitment to the Rise Foundation. “No Small Talk” also brings a very special treat with the inaugural poem Feminine by Denise Costa and the artwork of 12-year-old Hugh Creedon.”

Copies of No Small Talk will be available at the event and afterwards from the Tarbert Post Office for a donation of €10. No Small Talk can also be ordered via Amazon.
