Quarter Final: Listowel Emmets 1.14 -v- Asdee  2.04
This game was played on Saturday last under lights in Frank Sheehy Park Listowel.  What the neutral thought was going to be a walkover for the townies, turned out to be hanging in the balance at half time with all level on a scoreline of Emmets 0.07 v Asdee 1.04 with the goal coming from the penalty spot taken  by Eoin Tyidngs.  With Asdee going toe to toe with the might of Listowel Emmets, Asdee won the mid field  battle with both Kieran Kelly and John Doran assisted by Keith McNamara bringing height and flexibility to the Asdee outfit.  Listowel Emmets missing some of their starting fifteen had to dig deep to overcome the Asdee men.
But with six minutes into the second half Emmets settled and hit a purple patch with Cormac Mulvihill playing one of his better games for the Emmets driving forward and working hard. Emmets went on to score 1.08 in the second half goal coming from former County Minor Bryan Sweeney positioned at mid field , to Asdee only score of the half a second goal coming from corner forward  Darragh Keane. So no upset on this occasion and Emmet’s  move into the Semi Finals where they will learn who their opponents are on Wednesday night at the North Kerry Delegate meeting for November. Quarter Final: Duagh 1.10 -v- Ballydonoghue 4.07
This game was played in O’Rahilly  Park Ballylongford with perfect conditions for playing football, but the first half of this game was not about football and more about cynical play and stopping the free flow football the supporters love to watch.  Before the halftime whistle  there were 6 yellow cards and one red handed out. And the scoreline stood at Duagh 0.03 points all from free’s   2pts converted by Martin Scanlon and a point from Gerard McCarthy to Ballydonoghues 1.04 the goal coming from full forward Paul Kennelly, Kennelly  also converted 2 frees and two points from play from the boots of Jim Cremin and full back Jason Foley.
Second half and both teams decided it was time to play football, Duagh Michael Kirby split the posts in the first minute of resumption, Duagh went on to kick two more unanswered points, a point from midfielder Anthony Maher and a free from Gerard McCarthy this brought the game to a one point advantage in Ballydonoghue favour , Ballydonogues captain Paul Kennelly stepped up a gear and split the posts in the 7th minute, with corner forward Jack Foley adding another point in the 9th minute. Duagh again replied with a point from Kieran Lucey but just as Duagh were getting their tails up Ballydonogues Darragh Sheehy chipped the ball over the head of the goalkeeper for Ballydonogues second goal. But overrated tempers were never far away and again the referee was busy handing out a further 5 yellow, a black  and another red. Before the final whistle Ballydonoghue Paul Kennelly converted 2 goals one from the penalty spot with Jim Cremin adding a further point.  Duagh added a further 1.03 the goal coming from Nigel O’Connor and points from Anthony Maher, Daniel O’Donoghue and Martin Scanlon.  Ballydonoghue move on into the Semi Finals with Listowel Emmets
