The B/G 1, 2 & 3 Munster Championships concluded over the weekend where Listowel boxing Club Trijan had 5 boxers in action and came away with 2 champions & 2 runners up.
Jack Lonergan boxed first on Saturday in his semifinal after winning his quarter final last weekend on a first round stoppage and gave a great performance just narrowly losing out on a 3/2 split decision in a contest that could have gone either way.
Michaela Donoghue & Sadie Harty, both stopping their opponents in the first round, became Trojans newest Munster champions over the weekend.
Jayce Nagle boxed in his Munster final on Saturday against last year’s Irish finalist from Limerick after winning his semifinal last weekend. A tough fight for Jayce that unfortunately didn’t go his way, but huge progress was clear to see on the day.
Bobby Ball was our last contestant of the championships. After winning his semifinal last weekend he faced a tough opponent from Cork. It was a close contest with 1 round a piece going into the last round but unfortunately it wasn’t to be on this occasion for Bobby losing out on a 4-1 split decision.
We are very proud of all 8 boxers that entered these championships, being the first championships for some of these boxers. Well done to our newly crowned champions and the very best of luck to them in the All Irelands in two weeks time.
