The Fuinneog is Gaelaí competition, was a great success again as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge this year. 17 businesses/shops/groups took part in the competition and the fruits of their labour can be seen at www.eolaire.ie under Seachtain na Gaeilge.
“This is the second year that the best Irish window competition has been run during Seachtain na Gaeilge in Kerry and we are delighted with the result” said Pádraig Mac Fhearghusa, Conradh na Gaeilge. “Shops and businesses in Listowel and South & West Kerry were particularly active and we’re delighted that Tralee business’s took part this year. The main winners for 2017 were Betty McGrath’s i Lios Tuathail, Siopa na Feirme sa Choireán, Designer Flowers i dTrá lí and The Irish Pub Shop i gCill Áirne.
Conradh na Gaeilge are very grateful for the support of Kerry County Council’s Community Support Fund and Oifig na Gaeilge. The prizes will be presented at 7.30pm in Meadowlands Hotel, Tralee, Wednesday 5 thApril 2017”.
Other businesses in the Listowel Municipal District receiving high marks were Kay’s Children’s Shop, Cloth Hall and Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.
