The students of Causeway Comprehensive School raised over seven hundred euros in a fundraising and awareness event in aid of Pieta House on the final day of school before the midterm break. Students wore the colour amber in support of the charity and in a bid to raise awareness of the crucial work of Pieta House.

This event is part of the Amber flag initiative which seeks to promote positive mental health in schools, clubs and society. The Amber Flag initiative aims to promote and actively bring about a culture change in the promotion of positive mental health within the education system and other organisations.

It is to enhance the already good work that is going on in schools where mental health is concerned. Students and teachers in Causeway Comprehensive will be organising a number of events in the coming weeks to promote positive mental health in the school as part of the Amber Flag initiative.
