Commemorative Event in honour of the late Tom Collins in Ard Chúram Day Care Centre

A commemorative event was held recently in the Ard Chúram Day Care Centre in Listowel in honour of a colleague, the late Tom Collins Asdee. In attendance were Tom’s parents, Seán and Nora (pictured with Tom inset), his brother Liam, his sister Mairéad, other family members and friends. The event was jointly organised between Rural and Social Scheme Supervisor, Anita Bodenham and Ard Chúram personnel.

Ard Chúram Chairperson, Finbarr Mawe welcomed all, he and the the Centre’s Nurse Manager, Louise Harnett spoke of the huge esteem the late Tom was held in by clients and staff. Tom’s parents unveiled a seat plaque in his honour which reads, “In memory of the late Tom Collins Asdee who cherished, respected and loved to interact with our clients”

Anita spoke of the significant contribution Tom made to many Community Groups, including Ard Chúram, Listowel Tidy Towns and Kerry Parents and Friends and how that his hard work, committent and warmth made a lasting impact on everyone he worked with. The event, which was a celebration of his life, concluded with a number of songs from clients and staff, in which Tom himself had very often participated.
