Listowel’s Dale O Carroll is the Overall Winner of the Lee Strand Garda Youth Achievement Awards
Dale, pictured here with mom Claudette and dad Paul, became the overall winner of the Lee Strand Kerry Garda Youth Achievement Awards 2017 at the Ballyroe Heights Hotel last Friday night. Dale is a 19 years old and lives in Greenville, Listowel. He loves spending time with his nana Bridgie O Carroll who lives in Ballybunion. They have a very special, loving relationship and enjoys the fun and craic on his visits. He is delighted to help her with her chores and they laugh together in the company of Mrs. Browne’s Boys.
Dale went to Duagh Primary School and then went to Colaiste Na Riochta in Listowel, where he was always made to feel very welcome. He is currently in National Learning Network in Tralee. Dale has one brother Killian (22), who works in Chicago, who he enjoys updating with all the goings-on whenever the whats’ app calls comes through.
Dale has work experience in Supervalu Listowel every Friday morning in the fruit & veg department. On Thursday mornings he helps out in the Thyme Out Café, serving customers and clearing off table in Listowel Garden Centre. His parents Claudette and Paul were very proud when he had the pleasure of cutting the ribbon for its official opening. During the summer he worked in Deenagh Lodge Tea Rooms in Killarney.
Dale is a very busy young man and every week he has music, art and attends basketball, cooking and yoga classes. He goes to the gym and his favourite T.V. show is The Late Late Show.
At the awards Dale was described as inspirational when he was announced as the Overall Winner and was presented with a specially commissioned crystal trophy and the Overall Winner Certificate to mark his achievement.
