Dick Carmody Book Launch on November 23rd

On Saturday, 23rd November, the Árd Chúram Day Care Centre in Listowel will host the launch of a local publication ‘Inter Alia, words in layman’s language’ by Dick Carmody, Listowel native and past-pupil of Clounmacon National School. It features verse and prose compiled over many years from his late teens right through to his current retirement after a lifetime of work as a public servant. Included are themes of family, emigration, nature, social injustice and of course his undying love for our native games and local heroes.

Dick is delighted to use this publication to highlight and support the work of Árd Chúram, a locally established and managed charity the mission of which is ‘to foster joy, happiness and well-being in the lives of those we serve’.

Proceeds from the sale of this publication will go to assist Árd Chúram in its ongoing work in the provision of locally based services and in its creation of ‘a community within a community’ in the spirit of co-operation (comhairing) which was always a feature of life throughout North Kerry.
Éamon Ó Murchú, Listowel native and life-long educationalist will perform the Official Launch of ‘Inter Alia, words in layman’s language’ in the Árd Chúram Day Care Centre
