The Listowel Pop-Up Gaeltacht community once again met at John B. Keane’s Bar last Friday, May 19th. Pop-Up Gaeltacht Lios Tuathail, which is going from strength to strength, meet once a month at John B. Keane’s Bar for a drink, an informal chat and quite often a tune or a song! Instruments are welcomed.

It is a popular event for socialising as Gaeilge in North Kerry and new members are always embraced. A warm welcome and céad míłe fáilte isteach is always on offer by host Billy Keane. Everybody is welcome to come along, join in and practice their cupla focal in a relaxed atmosphere. It is also a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.
Musician and singer Breanndán Ó Beaglaíoch from Baile na bPoc made a surprise appearance on Friday night and raised the rafters with his tunes and songs.

“We had a lovely seisiún ceoil with Breanndán. There were plenty of singers, musicians and dancers amongst us which made for a great night. There were some Mayo people present too, who were on their way to Killarney for the match. They also participated in the seisiún and added to the craic!”

“Once again, we had a wonderful turnout at this months’ gathering. It just seems to be growing and growing which is fantastic! We had a number of new-comers too which is always so nice to see. Everybody is welcome to come along and engage with the language, no matter what level they’re at. And the music and song is a great way to involve everybody le chéile. We encourage participants to bring along their musical instruments.”
