Fourth Class pupil Katie Healy from Listowel Presentation Primary School has been named the national winner of this year’s ESB Networks Stay Safe Stay Clear Poster Competition.

Katie’s colourful poster, which sees character robot Sparky urge us all to Stay out of Danger captured the judges’ attention for its clear and creative approach to this important safety message. This year’s competition saw thousands of junior infants to sixth class pupils across Ireland discover the benefits of electricity while learning to be safe around it through specially created lesson plans and activities. Pupils were asked to focus on one of six safety tips and create a poster to depict it, leading to more than 2,500 entries from nearly 150 primary schools being received.
