The Listowel Vintners presented a cheque for €5,000 to Aras Mhuire Nursing Home recently. This was the proceeds of a bottle and can collection initiative by The Listowel Vintners using the Re-turn scheme. It started last May with a simple idea for the local publicans of Listowel to band together to collect their plastic bottles and cans and give the deposit return as a charitable donation to the Áras Mhuire Nursing Home, one of the last remaining community-based nursing homes in the region.
Aras Mhuire would like to thank The Vintners, the staff of Aras Mhuire and some local volunteers. As the initiative continues we are always open to welcome new volunteers to help such a very worthy cause.
