Semi Final: Brosna 1-12 -v- Ballydonoghue 3-06
This game was played on Sunday last in Frank Sheehy Park Listowel, and thank you to Tadhg Moriarty and his stewards for their  stewarding of the game. The ball was thrown in under the watchful eye of Referee Mike Hennessey Ballyduff.  It was Bronsa who were on the scoreboard first with a free converted by Adam Barry.  A bad mistake by Brosnas full back who slipped on the sod to allow Ballydonoghue Brain O Seanachain in on goal for Ballydonoghue first score in the fourth minute Brosna went on to score another free converted by Adam Barry in the 8th minute.  But  Brosnas corner back Maurice O Keeffe as they say took one for the team and an awarded penalty was taken by Ballydonoghue Paul Kennelly for their final score of the half.  Brosna Adam Barry and Patrick Moriarty kept the scoreboard ticking over. With a superb corner free over near the stand side of the field kicked in and curved over the bar by Adam Barry to bring Brosna a point up half time score Brosna 0.07 v Ballydonoghue 2.0
The second half and it was hell for leather pure football by Brosna they defended as if their lives depended on it and kicked three unanswered points in the first 12 minutes one a piece from Denis Mc Auliffe, Adam Barry a free and Mike Finnegan.  It took Ballydonoghue until the 45 minute of the game  to register their first point of the game which came from Kieran Lynch, but Ballydonoghue didn’t score again until the 52nd minute. Brosna were very much in the driving seat  and when supper sub Don McAuliffe repeated his goal winning ways to rattle the Ballydonoghue net in the 50th minute to bring his side 7pts ups it looked like the current champions were going home early this year.  But the Brosna men stopped counter attacking and allowed Ballydonoghue to come at them in waves which we all know they do excellently and kicked  2 unanswered points to bring 5 between the teams with 52 minutes on the clock, Adam Barry for Brosna converted an awarded free to keep the six points between the sides with 55 minutes gone,  it was now Ballydonoghue time to attack freely not having to worry about Brosna counter attack Ballydonoghue went on to kick a further 3 unanswered points but with the clock turned read Ballydonoghue needed a goal to draw level and bring the game to a replay, with a long ball kicked into the square from Darragh Sheehy, with team mate Brain O Seanachain waiting under it to fist the ball to the back of the Brosna net to the roar of the crowd. Mike Hennessy with the whistle in his mouth with three minutes of extra time played it finished with  Brosna 1.12 to Ballydonoghue 3.06
