Presentation Secondary School Listowel announces state of the art new building for 2024

At the recent Open Evening for prospective students at Presentation Secondary Listowel, Principal Katherina Broderick announced details of the multi-million new building project which will begin in 2024.

The two-storey extension will offer new subject classrooms, Special Education Needs rooms, a Sensory room and Science Labs. The building will extend on to the Ballybunion road side of the current building and works will commence on site in March 2024.

Following on from the installation of new windows and doors throughout the current school building this summer as well as 4 additional modular classrooms in May 23, Ms Broderick said that they are very fortunate in Presentation Listowel to have these recent significant investments in the school building which ensures they can provide for their growing student population. The school offers excellent facilities, and the additional accommodation will ensure that the school continues to be a leading provider of education in North Kerry.

Ms Broderick expressed her gratitude to the Department of Education for the investment in Presentation Listowel.

She said “As a lead school for STEM, the new Science labs will ensure that the students continue to achieve at the highest level in this area. We are delighted this year to be part of the STEM Passport for Inclusion programme and to be the only Kerry school offering the Girls Go Circular programme. The SEN rooms and the sensory room will enhance the provision for students with additional needs. We are delighted to have a designated ASD class in our school in keeping with our ethos of providing inclusive learning environment for all. It is a most exciting time for the whole school community at Presentation Secondary School, Listowel.”
