LISTOWEL DID IT AGAIN

Representatives Mary O‘Hanlon and KCC Cathaoirleach Cllr Jimmy Moloney of Listowel Tidy Towns were reeling with excitement in the RDS as it was announced that Listowel were bringing home yet another Gold medal in the National Tidy Towns competition
After a very difficult two years this came as a huge surprise. Not alone did Listowel bring home their 13th Gold medal for best small town, it was also highly commended in the County Awards, with Killarney as County Award Winner.

When you get to the high standard in the competition that Listowel has reached, especially having won the All Ireland Tidiest Town in 2018, it is extremely difficult to maintain those standards. Despite the fact that there are extra competititors coming on board nationwide every year, Listowel still managed to gain 7 extra points this year. What an achievement!!!!

Listowel Tidy Towns group would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who contributed their time and helped in any way in making Listowel the beautiful town that it is today.

We would also like to acknowledge the tremendous input by KKC and their ground staff, CE workers, The Business Alliance Group, resident associations and community groups who played a part in Listowel’s successful entry this year.

Jackie (PRO) On behalf of the present Tidy Towns group, would like to acknowledge previous Tidy Towns members who paved the way in making a small marketing town into a little gem in north Kerry. A huge “Thank you” to you all.
The work of Tidy Towns is never plain sailing and like every other Tidy Towns Group, Listowel are always appealing for new volunteers and new ideas.
The people of Listowel have bought into the theme of “Tidy Towns” and hopefully this theme will continue into the future.
