es, those long awaited tickets to the Helix have arrived. Listowel are in the pot for an award but will it be the award that they’ve been striving for. No one knows. Only time will tell. The Listowel Tidy Towns group live in hope.
However none of this would have come about but for the dedicated support they received from you, the people of Listowel along with the council, the on-street workers, the CE workers, the local businesses, the schools, those that turned up for the evening cleanups and all those that worked away in the background, too many to mention them all. The Tidy Towns group are most grateful to you all.
This year the Listowel Tidy Towns group had the added support of the local Allianze group, chaired by Stephen Stack who were of immense help over the last few months in helping to keep the town looking as good as its present appearance.
This week marks the end (for the moment) of the early morning litter picks the Alliance have been involved in and Listowel Tidy Towns want to “Thank You”.
This week also says farewell and safe journey to Listowel Tidy Towns chairperson Julie Gleeson and secretary Mary O’Hanlon who are travelling to Ontario to attend the International Communities in Bloom competition Awards.
In the meantime Listowel gardeners anxiously await the results of the local annual Tidy Towns competition where our budding gardeners are awarded for their effords.
